1st Annual Golf Outing a Big Success

On Saturday, October 14, Camp Johnsonburg held it’s first ever golf outing at the Apple Mountain Golf and Country Club in Belvidere, NJ. 101 golfers teed off in a modified shotgun start for our four-person scramble. It was a chilly day, with the wind blowing hard enough to even effect putting, but a good time was had by all!

The team of Bill Emmit, Don Eberhardt, John Stewart, and Bob Sebok won the event with an impressive score of 59, which was 13 under par. For their efforts, each member of this foursome received a $100 gift card to Dick’s Sporting Goods. Prizes were also given to the second and third place teams along with the winners of 2 closest to the pin and a long drive contest.

When the golf was over, most of us stayed for a buffet dinner, and we were even joined by a few non-golfers. The food and fellowship was a wonderful way to end a great day. We would like to thank everyone who sponsored, played in, and/or prayed for this event as it was a huge success! Thanks to all of your efforts, we were able to raise almost $5,000 for camp. We plan on making this an annual event, so be on the lookout for information about next year’s golf outing.
