In Memoriam---Larry Williams
(June 24, 1930-February 24, 2007)
Larry Williams, master craftsman at Johnsonburg for 15 years, died on February 24th after a long illness. Born in Lisbon, Ohio, the youngest of 11 children, Larry came to work at camp in February 1991. His gifts to the Johnsonburg family were his stories, his gentle sense of humor, and his ability to fix anything. He could be found sitting in the office at 5:30 am contemplating a solution for the latest challenge, lying on the floor beneath a piece of kitchen equipment, or sitting on the tractor in his straw hat, keeping the meadows mowed. Larry loved life, and his positive outlook, his work ethic, and his devotion to camp set a standard for all those with whom he worked. The Johnsonburg staff mourns the passing of this special friend. He will be missed.
Our thoughts, our prayers, and our love are with Larry’s wife, Jo, his children, Larry, Randy, and Peggy, and his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchild. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at the following address:
