Oelschlager Environmental Fund

Recognizing the breadth and depth of Kurt and Lorelei Oelschlager’s ministry to the many guests and campers at Johnsonburg Presbyterian Center, as well as Kurt’s passion for the natural site, the desire arose to create an environmental fund to continue this good work.

Therefore, to honor 40 years of ministry and service, the Oelschlager Environmental Fund would exist in perpetuity to support program and facilities.

Monies donated to this fund could be used for the following projects (but not limited to):

  1. Establishment of trail(s) for nature study and prayer
  2. Naturalist staff position for the summer camp program
  3. Environmental center/pavilion for groups of all ages/types to accommodate educational initiatives, teambuilding, gathering/fellowship
  4. Accessibility to the lake/bog for nature study (i.e. dock, bridge)
  5. Butterfly Garden for study
  6. To replace older light fixtures
  7. Reduce single-use plastics
  8. Plant more trees
  9. Other opportunities that positively affect the environment and not just the campus
